Luggage, Backpacks, & Household Items
We are dedicated to assisting individuals who are transitioning out of foster care homes and into independent living. Our services include supplying travel backpacks and luggage to make the moving process easier and more organized. We hope to remove the need for individuals to rely on shopping bags or trash bags to transport their belongings. In addition, we provide gift cards that enable them to purchase essential household items of their choice, ensuring they have the necessary resources to confidently start their new journey. Our mission is to support these individuals as they embark on their path to independent living.
Application & Document Assistance
Due to frequently changing living situations and a lack of support, many former foster youth do not have access to their important documents, nor do they know where to look. Avanti Alliance offers assistance in locating and ordering transcripts, birth certificates, IDs, and other essential documents young adults need to move forward to successful adulthood. Additionally, we provide assistance, editing, and education in filling out applications and paperwork for everything from college, employment, assistance, or housing applications.
Connections
Our organization is committed to cultivating relationships and fostering collaboration with other organizations in our community. Through these strategic partnerships, we are able to connect the formerly fostered young adults with community programs that can meet their individual needs. Moreover, we believe in the power of shared experiences and the importance of building a sense of belonging. That's why, starting in the summer of 2024, we will begin to organize family-style meals and Holiday meal opportunities, where our volunteers, youth, and community partners come together to form meaningful connections and spend quality time with each other. Our goal is to create a sense of belonging and support for our former foster youth.
Job Coaching
At Avanti Alliance, we offer job coaching services that equip individuals with the essential skills required for a forward path to success in the workforce or higher education and training. Our coaching covers a wide range of topics, including personal hygiene and grooming, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette. Our goal is to empower youth to develop a strong foundation of professional skills and confidence.
