Founder & Director

Evelyn Amorde

During my sophomore year of high school, I initiated a research project in my English course focusing on social issues. I engaged with local organizations to understand the landscape of support services available for young adults aging out of foster care in our community. I discovered our community needed many resources for this population of young adults; thus, I resolved to take proactive steps to meet these needs.  Motivated by a fervent desire to effect real change, I conceived the vision of establishing a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential resources and fostering vital connections for young adults transitioning out of foster care. This endeavor stems from a commitment to mitigate the prevailing challenges this vulnerable demographic faces and to catalyze positive outcomes in their lives. Drawing upon my research, advocacy efforts, and unwavering dedication to social welfare, I am steadfast in my mission to establish a robust support network that empowers and uplifts young adults navigating the transition from foster care to independent adulthood. Through strategic initiatives and collaborative partnerships, I am determined to enact meaningful change and cultivate a brighter future for those in need within our community. Avanti means forward, and our goal is to be an alliance of allies that assists, supports, and empowers youth aging out of foster care as they transition into adulthood.
